TPO membranes are single-ply roof membranes manufactured from ethylene propylene rubber. TPO is an elastomeric membrane that accepts roofing motion along with the damaging thermal shock. TPO roofs are resistant against ozone, algae, eco-friendly and safe to setup. TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin) is a single ply roofing membrane is commonly in use on residential and commercial buildings. In newer construction TPO roofing is a preferred method. The TPO roofing membrane is usually installed with mechanical fasteners that place down on the edge of the sheet and are secured with the membrane and in to the roofs decking. Seam strengths are reportedly three to four times those of EPDM’s adhesive and tape seams.

TPO: Thermoplascit Polyolefin

TPO or thermoplastic polyolefin is a blend of polypropylene and ethylene-propylene polymers. TPOs are considered to be the innovative future in the commercial roofing industry. The TPO in short combines the attributes of the EPDM and the PVC to include long-term weathering resistance, cold weather flexibility, tear resistance, puncture resistance, and chemical resistance. Like PVC membranes, TPOs will not cure after exposure to natures elements. TPOs may or may not be reinforced and may also be designed in a variety of colors, and come in thicknesses ranging from 40 – 100 mils.

EPDM:

EPDM is an extremely durable synthetic rubber roofing membrane (ethylene propylene diene terpolymer) widely used in low-slope buildings in the United States and worldwide. Its two primary ingredients, ethylene and propylene, are derived from oil and natural gas. EPDM is available in both black and white, and is sold a broad variety of widths, ranging from 7.5 feet to fifty feet, and in two thicknesses, 45 and 60 mils. EPDM can be installed either fully adhered, mechanically attached or ballasted, with the seams of the roofing system sealed with liquid adhesives or specially formulated tape.

Single-Ply Membrane Roofing Systems EPDM, Elastomeric Polymer Roofing in the OKC Metro.

EPDM is an elastomeric polymer that has been synthesized from ethylene, propylene, and a small amount diene monomer. An EPDM membrane is a cured material and is classified as a “thermoset”. This is simply defined as such that the polymers molecular structure is “set” as a result of heating during the manufacturing process. EPDM sheets are available in a variety of colors, and range in thickness from 30 – 90 mils. EPDM membranes can be installed using one of three methods: ballasted with large stones, fully adhered with an approved adhesive, and mechanically attached to the roof deck.

PVC:

PVC or polyvinyl chloride is produced by the polymerization of vinyl chloride monomer. PVC membranes can be non-reinforced or reinforced with glass fibers or polyester fabric. They come in thicknesses ranging from 45 – 96 mils. PVC membranes can be installed by mechanically attaching the membrane to the roof deck. They are then fully adhered with an approved adhesive, stone ballasted, and paver ballasted. PVC membranes do not cure after exposure to the elements therefore remains heat weldable throughout the lifetime of the roof.

We are very pleased with Camelot Exteriors. From the moment they arrived at our door, they were very professional and polite. Camelot was very informative of their company and their experience. Their team was present when the insurance appraiser scheduled his appointment, and they made sure all our damage was noted and addressed by the appraiser. The scope of work they gave for our roof and gutter repairs was clear and understandable, as was the contract we signed for their service. The roofing crew was punctual, polite, respectful of our property, and extremely hard working, especially in the heat. They were neat in their work environment and made sure to collect all debris from our property when they left. Our experience of having a new roof put on was stress free. As soon as I signed up to have my roof done it turned cold and Camelot informed me that you should not put a roof on until it was above 45°. because there’s issues of it not sticking down. I did see other roofing companies putting roofs on & it was under 45°. so as soon as it got above 45 degrees Camelot was here and had everything done in 2 days. I was very impressed with them and they cleaned up after themselves and everything’s been fine since. I would definitely use them again.

One person I will never forget is the salesman who made sure this whole process went smoothly, Richey. He came out and gave me a quote to roof my home and repair my skylights. However, because of all his knowledge, I was able to get a new roof and new skylights and my insurance paid for it all!! From start to finish it was such a great experience, I would highly recommend calling Camelot and asking for Richey. And as a bonus he went ahead and cleaned my gutters. Everyone was so nice and professional!! Thank you so much 🙂

I had recent damage to my roof and gutters from the great OKLAHOMA weather and when I called Camelot and Richie came out to go over all the damage, I knew right away I was in good hands. He was so knowledgeable, helpful, on time, & answered all of my questions with answers that even I would understand. I really appreciated how professional and quick the work was completed.
